2 to 3 years ago when I was in Intro to graphic design class, we had to go to the library to find inspiration for our project that we were about to work on. When I got there I found a book that is still today one of my favorite books. "100 Posters, 134 Squirrels" is a book by the artist/poster designer, Jay Ryan.

If you like poster designs, check it out.

He is one of my biggest inspirations for hand type and is the reason that I got into hand lettering in the first place. After years of following his work I have finally ordered some of his posters and I wanted to share them with you. I have been meeting to post this for some time now. I found this video and was amazed at how much work was put into it. The designs just keep coming and coming. My favorite part is when the music starts coming out of the creatures mouth. This is also just the short version, I would love to see the long one.

I have been following Blaine Fontana for several years now. he is one of my favorite painters (you can check him out here.) I have been wanting to get one of his paintings for so long now and found out the other week that one of his painting is being sold as a poster. Well today I got back home from a trip to bald head island where the poster was waiting for me. My wife had secretly ordered the poster before we left for the trip. Check out how beautiful this painting is.

This book is great, one of my favorites. The entire thing is devoted to type that is hand rendered. Here is a video of a thumb threw. When I saw this video I knew that I had to have this book.
